(18 customer reviews)

$47.95$69.95

Ash is our lightest grey and looks more cool and blue than Stone.

Clear

Use it like a dye on aniline, full-grain leather and vinyl upholstery to:

  • restore appearance;
  • seal, condition and protect.

It applies easily with a sponge and will not alter the feel. It won’t peel or rub off onto clothing.

Each bottle comes with gloves and stir stick.

Before You Buy

Pale shades get poorest coverage. If you are using Ash to change from a dark or red color, you will likely need 2-3 times the quantity of color plus Clear Prep+Finish™. Learn more about color changing.

Rub ‘n Restore® products are not recommended for fabric, suede, nubuck or faux (bonded) leather. Learn more about material types or peeling bonded leather.

I have a cream beige sectional. Decided to dye it Ash (gray). It took 3 days, patience, and alot of work. But so worth it. I is almost perfect.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Corvette. I just dyed specific areas inside of the vehicle (steering wheel, airbag, door panels). Originally it was all black inside. These pictures really don’t do justice, because it has a contrast between the outside of the car (silver) and the new dyed areas inside (ash grey). It has a very custom look, beyond anything I’ve seen. Wow! So cool!”

I got your product yesterday and used it right away. I have purchased many things online and always cross my fingers that the product may just do what is advertised. I must say, it is all you promised it to be. It went on easily and looks great!"

Love the product. Easy to use and looks great. My family couldn't believe the difference and how great it looked. Using the second hand sofa to stage a home for sale and will take it home when home sells and use it for my personal use. I will tell all my friends about this product.

I spent about $7,000 on my couches. We moved and they no longer matched my floor color. I couldn't sell them for half price even though I tried. Then I decided to go for it and dye them. WOW! AMAZING! I love my couches, they look perfect. They went from dark brown to ash gray.

I absolutely love this product! I dyed my tufted sofa ash grey. The application process is super easy and fool proof. I even allowed my 6 year old daughter dye the seat cushion while I did the rest. 3 months later the sofa is still beautiful.

While the product is not designed for nubuck and suede, I experimented on this sofa with the ash color and got great results. I used a mixture of one part Ash, one part Clear Prep, and one part distilled water. First I rubbed on a thin, light coat with sponge. It looked awful. Sponged on another 4-5 coats, and looks good. Doesn't feel stiff or unnatural either.

I get so many compliments on how good my Pottery Barn sofa looks after using the Ash, and nobody can believe that I dyed it!

I was hesitant to try making such a drastic change to my leather couch and two matching chairs, so it took months to work up the nerve. What if I ruined it? Well, the job is now done, and I am so glad I did it, and so proud. Everyone who sees it is impressed. The leather is in so much better condition than it was before. Rub N' Restore actually made the dried out, twenty-year-old couch supple and healthy again. It went from a faded yellow (started out camel colored), to a gorgeous robin-egg blue by mixing ten parts ash with one part turquois, and then adding clear coat. I couldn't be more pleased.

I bought this paint over two years ago when my husband and I were given some leather couches for our apartment. Because leather is so easy to clean and nice to have, we couldn't turn them down just because of the color so I did some research and found RnR! We changed the couch from a tannish brown color to a beautiful light gray and it was extremely easy. My only rag on it is that after two years our couches looked pretty darn faded but luckily we were able to use that same paint we had from two years ago to give a fresh new coat and it looks perfect! We got a 16 oz bottle and did a full sofa + love seat, a total of maybe 6 coats with still some left over. In the future I think we might go darker! But for now we'll stick with our light gray. Thanks again RnR!

I brought 16 oz. of the ash to dye a tufted sofa that was originally butter cream. The process was extremely simple and fool proof. So simple that I allowed my 6 year old daughter dye the seat cushion while I did the rest. After four coats I had a beautifully even finish. I dyed the sofa 3 months ago and have no complaints.

I purchased this color and slate and mixed them to create the color I wanted. I also purchased the flite cleaning solution and clear prep and finish. I followed every instruction, starting with cleansing my leather chairs with the flite ( two times just to be thorough) and then 15 coats of dye applied with a sponge, and of coarse making sure the dye was completely dry b4 applying another (also using a blow dryer) . I was going for a dramatic change (red to grey) I let the dye cure for 2 days and then applied 2 coats of prep and finish. (I first tried to go for a satin finish by mixing dye and the prep/ finish but it didn't work as it was supposed to, it came out very streaky, so I had to apply another 2 coats of dye to each chair) after following Rub n Restores direction to the T, the dye continually rubs off my chairs and I continually have to reapply almost weakly. Very frustrating and disappointed. My chairs were very expensive ($1000 each) and instead of selling them because they didn't match with the redecorated room I was convinced this was the perfect solution. I can't just get rid of them nor can I strip off the now 20 or more coats of dye, I'm stuck retouching these chairs weekly : (

I was skeptical at first, but the product does exactly what it says it can do. It restored the yellowed tan leather on my stool, to a fresh new looking light grey. Just like a professional would do!!
